Kraken Acquires UK Crypto Futures Exchange

The US-based crypto exchange Kraken has acquired Crypto Facilities in a deal valued at least $100 million. Crypto Facilities is registered by FCA and is Europe’s only regulated crypto-derivative platform. The acquisition makes Kraken the first major exchange to provide its services with futures trading.

Bithumb to launch a new crypto exchange in UAE

South Korean exchange of cryptocurrency Bithumb is establishing a business in the Middle East with the launch of a licensed exchange of fiat to cryptocurrency in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company announced Tuesday that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE – based company Nvelop to form a joint venture for the initiative. The hope is that Bithumb will be at the forefront of emerging crypto markets in the Middle East region through the partnership.

Coinbase Launches PayPal Withdrawal Support for EU Users

Coinbase announced support for PayPal in the U.S. last year. As of Tuesday, Feb. 5, support for PayPal withdrawals has been expanded to all EU customers, and also customers in the countries of the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland). Previously, European customers could only withdraw funds from SEPA and UK Faster Payments. EU customers can now immediately withdraw their crypto balance from Coinbase directly to their PayPal accounts.
